Primula marginata

This smell spring flower is endemic to the South-Western part of the Alps and the northern border of the Apennines. It grows in limestone rock wings. However, it is absent from the Gran Paradiso park and the Aoste Valley. Its flowers are purple and fragrant, gathered by 2-8 in upright umbels. It owes its name to its leaves, that form a rosette, and of which the edge is serrated and covered in a white powder.
