Plant species

Jovibarba allionii

Jovibarba allionii (Jord. & Fourr.)
screes and arid areas
July - September
Subalpine, Alpine
This species is an alpine endemic, i.e. it grows exclusively in the Alps. It is a succulent plant with velvety leaves that form small rosettes. The marked difference to the more frequent and well-known evergreens lies in the fringed flowers that do not open when ripe but always remain closed. These are light yellow in colour and, depending on the altitude, flower between July and September.
