Subalpine, Alpine
This species is an Alpine endemic, i.e. it grows exclusively in the Alps. This small perennial plant forms dense pads with short stems, from which emerge flowers with pink, serrated petals and dark brown fauces. The leaves are narrow, almost linear. In the Gran Paradiso Park, it is only confirmed on the Piedmont side, while in the Valle d'Aosta area it was reported at the beginning of the 20th century in Cogne, but requires modern confirmation.
